AML Training
We train people so that afterwards they make decisions rather than recall a slide deck. With a test of what was learned and records you can show to an inspector.

- Test, completion records and a training register
Why signatures in a register are not enough
One of the most common audit findings looks like this: training was delivered, and the only evidence is a row of signatures. No programme, no materials, no trace that anyone learned anything.
The problem is not the paperwork, it is the work. An employee who does not understand what counts as suspicious will not notice anything suspicious. No signature replaces that, and an inspection shows it at once: the questions are put to people, not to the register.
So we finish training with a test and record the results. You need that more than the inspector does: you see who is genuinely ready to take decisions and who needs more work.
Three levels of training
| Level | For whom | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| CoreWhat money laundering and terrorist financing are, the red flags, and the employee's obligations. | Everyone who deals with customers | Two to four hours |
| For compliance officersThe deeper format: legislation, internal control rules, risk assessment, dealing with the regulator, inspection practice. | Responsible officers | One to two days |
| For managementA short strategic format: the liability of directors, the risks to the business, and how the tone from the top shapes control. | Directors | About two hours |
Any level can be extended
How it runs
Online or in person, whichever suits you. The optimal group is eight to fifteen people, larger online. Individual sessions and recordings are possible.
Training ends with a test, with a pass mark usually between seventy and eighty per cent. We work through practical exercises and cases, retest where needed, and give extra time to anyone who needs it. Results go into the register.
What you get
Materials
Slides and handouts, and for corporate programmes also adapted checklists and quick guides.
Tests and exercises
Practical exercises and a final test. The pass mark is usually between seventy and eighty per cent.
Completion records
Certificates or completion records naming the programme and the hours, one per participant.
Training register
A ready register for internal records and for an inspector, with the test results.
Format and scheduling
We fit dates around shifts and workload so that a whole team is not pulled off the floor at once. The programme is agreed in advance and tied to your internal control rules, otherwise the training is about an abstract firm while your people work in a real one.
Frequently asked questions
How often do staff need training?
Training follows the programme the firm itself sets. We help design that programme so it meets the requirements and is still achievable: training that cannot be delivered exists only on paper.
Does everyone need training, or only compliance?
The core level is needed by everyone who touches customers and transactions. The deeper level is for responsible officers, and a short separate format for management. Training everyone the same way is expensive and pointless.
Can we just take the test without the training?
Testing is required either way, but a test on its own teaches nothing. Training improves the pass rate and, more importantly, cuts the everyday mistakes that later grow into findings.
We are a small firm. Do we need a bespoke programme?
A small firm usually needs the core format plus the deeper one for the responsible officer. A corporate programme makes sense when you have your own processes and want people trained on those rather than on generic examples.
What does it cost?
The fee depends on the format, the number of participants and whether the programme has to be built around your internal control rules. We name an exact figure after a short conversation.
Shall we look at your case?
Tell us the task and we will say whether it needs the full piece of work or a narrower one.
